Narasinha The Death Of Greed. Such is depicted in this terrifying incarnation of Vishnu as the Man-Lion. A demon king secured a boon from Brahma whereby he could not be killed by any human, animal or god, either by day or by night, on earth or in the sky, outside or inside his house. Intoxicated with ego and powers of invincibility, the demon tortured his son who was devoted to Rama and greedily oppressed the earth. Rama appeared as Narasinha, a new being, and destroyed this hate-monger on his threshold at twilight, thus rebalancing the moral order.
